You should establish a budget before shopping. A good retail salesperson will steer you in the direction of a hot tub that fits your budget as well as your needs. Some retailers will negotiate with you but usually not much. You are better using your bargaining skills to ask for accessory items such as delivery, steps, and cover lifter or lighting systems. Such items are often used as after the sale add-ons and manufacturers sometimes offer promotions sell them at reduced prices to aid the selling process.

  • How will you pay for it, cash, finance?

Most retailers like cash, so don’t be afraid to ask for a cash discount. It might not be much, but remember, credit card companies charge anything from 1.5 to 2.5% for a CC transaction. If you pay in cash, the retailer might give you that discount. If you plan to finance your purchase, be sure to ask what programs the retailer has to offer.
